A Night On the Town

I got a call from a friend from work asking if he could work my Saturday afternoon shift (he needed the extra hours). I quickly agreed. And I just as quickly tried to set something up so that I could take full advantage of the situation.

I got a hold of my friend Aubrey, and we had a night out on the town with a couple other friends. We first went to pick up Tim, and then went to a birthday party for one of the guys at work. We didn't stay to long because we didn't know anybody. We then decided to get a hold of our friend Alex (Alexandra is her full name, so you don't think that it was just a bunch of guys and Aubrey), and one of Tim's friends, Aaron. On our way to get them we noticed that Provo was having some sort of Hispanic Festival on center street. After we picked everyone up we went down to this. It turned out to be more of a flea market then any real festival. But I did get a blue light saber, and Aubrey had fun with it. Especially the part where she attacks Alex. (Not really, but we all know she wanted to hit somebody)

It was close to time for me to head out and go to work the grave, but we had one more stop in store. Spoon Me! It's a frozen yogurt shop, and it's actually really good. They have some odd types of frozen yogurt, but they have very fresh fruit, so it evens out. It seems to be a pretty "hot spot" because every time I go there the place always has a fair number of people. Then I had to call it a night, I had to be off to work. But it was all around a really fun night.

I'm In!

I have a spot in the fall 2008 Police Academy at UVU. I turned everything in, I talked with Capt. DeMille, and I got my uniform. I start September 9. Its gonna be awesome!

Academy Update

So I have almost all the paper work done. I have an appointment tomorrow to get the medical release signed, and then I have to get my driving record monday morning. Then I can go see Capt. DeMille at UVU at 12:30 monday, hand all the papers in and get a spot. Hooray!!!

Just A Bit Going On

So I'm trying to get into the police academy. I took the police officer selection test, which I was a little worried about. I got that back just the other day and passed with flying colours. I called up Capt. DeMille to see when I could come talk to him, and he told me that he was meeting with people on Monday, and that so long as I had all the paper work, and stuff ready I would have a spot. Unfortunately, there are two things I don't have. One which will be easy to get is a driving record report. I just need to talk to Drew, or go down to the station. The harder one to get is the physical and getting my medical waiver signed. I'm confident I will get it signed, the hard part is getting to see a Doctor before noon on monday. (I called Capt. DeMille Friday afternoon) Hence my frustration. The Captain wasn't to sure if there would be any spots open after Monday. I want to get into the Academy this fall. Let's just hope there are a few spots open for me.

I also started to get my fall and winter clothing out, and I found I was in another predicament. The vast majority of my clothes have been the same since high school (5 years ago now) and I've put on about 20lbs since then. Most of that weight has been put on in the last year, and now I've got to buy new clothes. On the one hand I'm thrilled that I'm finally gaining weight, and on the other I hate shopping, and spending money on things that I think are useless. (Clothes rank up their as being useless, cause I just don't care about clothes) Oh, well.

Seven Peaks is also near its end. Only like another week to go. It was a good run, I really liked the people that I worked with, and I made a few friends out of the deal. I doubt I'll be back next year cause I just don't agree with a lot of their policies. But for the most part it was fun, and just reaffirmed my knowledge that I hate customer service, and people are stupid.

Andie Allen moved back home to Arizona a few weeks ago to go to school, and I really miss her. She was one of my best, and closest friends. She could always cheer me up, and we had a ton of fun together. Sometimes I'll be sitting on the couch, bored out of my mind, and I'll be like maybe Andie wants to do something, and I pick up the phone when I realize, "oh yeah she's in Arizona." Bummer. I really miss her, and I think if I don't get in the academy this fall, I may just take a trip down south.

Empty Promises and The Real Power in Government

I'm kinda getting sick of all the bull that's being thrown around in this campaign election. Candidates will say whatever they think will get them elected, whether or not they actually believe it or even intend to do what they say. All it is, is an empty promise. Whether its ending the Iraq war, bringing oil prices down, or creating jobs. They have no clear plan for any of it, they just want to get elected. And it goes for both parties. Yeah they might stay on their side of the line, but in the end it won't matter because they won't end up doing what they say.

The real people that get things done in government, are the ones with all the money...lobbyists. They can buy any politician that they want, and get them to do what they want. Politicians only care about the "little guy," for as long as it takes them to get elected. Then the big business comes in and bam, whatever they say goes. Why aren't oil companies getting slammed for a record breaking 12 billion dollar, quarterly profit? Why hasn't the government done anything with gas prices so high, that some people have to decide between gas in their car, or food on the table? Or whats surely to come, between heating their home, or food on the table? You better believe oil companies are paying a lot on both sides of the fence so that nothing gets done. Why haven't cigarettes been banned? They kill people, and there are absolutely no positive benefits to it. Alcohol was banned for awhile, why aren't cigarettes? There have been tons of studies by doctors with conclusive evidence that smoking will eventually kill you. But nothing has been done to curb it. Oh you might say that they're required to but a warning label on the product. But please we all know how worthless that is. How about they make a bill requiring the companies to have a maximum amount of nicotine in their product? Or not allowing nicotine in them at all? Without the nicotine their would be far fewer smokers. Again Tobacco companies spend millions to keep politicians in their pockets. Doing what they want, not whats best for Americans.

But that's the sad reality that's come to our system of government. One can control the many with money. Maybe at one time, a lone individual with the ideals and dreams to shape a better America could. But now a lone voice is quickly cut down in the cacophony of opposing voices. You can't change America without the money to back yourself up.

Luck Favors the Brave

It seems to me that there are some people that just always end up on top. And I was wondering why? A friend told me that there are some that are just lucky. I don't think luck has anything to do with it. I think the difference is that there are these people that go out and do things, win or lose. Yeah they might lose sometimes, but you don't usually remember them for losing, you remember them for winning.

I think that's the big difference. These people actually try to do new things. They are bold, and will take the initiative in all things. They are the life of the party, they are the ones with successful jobs. They are the ones that are happy, and content with their lives.

Nobody remembers the kid hiding in the corner, nobody thinks anything about the kid whos always in a bad mood. The one that says they are bored and nothing is happening in their lives. Nothing is happening because you don't make it happen. If I've learned anything its that life won't just fall in your lap, you've gotta go and make it happen.

I wouldn't have been able to use a backhoe, had I not asked. (It was freaking sweet!!!) And now I've taken the first steps in becoming a police officer. I took the POST entrance exam. (I don't know how well I did, reading and math are easy, but spelling and proper grammar are not my strong points) It wouldn't have happened if I didn't finally get off my but and do something about it.

EMO kids, take a note. Get off your buts and go do it. Take the initiative, get in the middle of things, do something for once for yourself. It doesn't matter if you have money or you don't, you won't be happy in life until you take control of your life and get out there and live it. It's all just a state of mind.

A Good Conversation

So there are actually a couple of girls that I'm interested in. They're cute and fun, and we haven't actually been on "dates," but we do hang out a bit. And I've come to realize there's a very important part to the relationship that I hadn't thought of before. And that's having a good conversation. Cause theres a big difference between just talking and having an actuall conversation. In a conversation theres a flow to it. It goes back and forth, and travels around without to much difficulty. Talking is just talking. You have a topic, say a little something about it and then it very quickly peeters out, and you have to start up with a new topic. Like the topic dies, and you're forced to plunge back in. A lot of the time it's questions with one word answers that give it away as just talk.

I've got to actually be able to converse with these females. I don't want/like to just talk. There needs to be an easy flow to it, that isn't forced, or it just aint worth it. I realized this as I was hanging out with these different girls, and with my friends. I was with this one girl that I thought I liked and I thought liked me (she would laugh at everything I said even if it was the most retarded thing imaginable), and I just had to force us to talk. It just didn't feel natural. Then I went and was hanging out with one of my good female friends, and the conversation just came so naturally. I could talk with her about anything for hours at a time it would seem. Maybe it's so easy becuase she is such a good friend, but it seemed to me like we have just always been able to talk like that.

I don't know, it just kinda shocked me that a "conversation" would be so important. And I'm not sure if I'm explaining it right, cause I know you have to be able to speak with someone, but it makes a huge difference when there's a natural flow and honesty to it. Or maybe I just really like my female friend.

It's Been Awhile

It's been a couple of months since my last blog.

I've gotten a second job working for seven peaks waterpark. I work in the front office. It ain't to bad, and it certainly helps that I work with like 10 girls and just one other guy. I've also moved out of the house in Highland. It was ending up being just way to long of a drive, and Don wanted to sell the place. So I'm back in Provo, living in the Westwood Apartments. They're nice, a little small, but clean, and my roommates are certainly interesting. My ward is pretty nice, I've already got a calling. I'm the family home evening group leader, so I'm trying to make it to fhe as much as possible.

I mentioned in an earlier blog that I was going to do my best about being friendly. Apparently I've been doing a really good job. Both the people at work and in my ward think I'm a really upbeat and friendly guy. Maybe it's just the fact that I'm running on very little sleep, that the sarcasm and bull headedness aren't showing through.

It should be a pretty interesting summer.

9/11 Conspiracies and Other Bull$#!+

9/11 was a horrible tragedy that befell our country. It was perpetrated by some very evil men. Namely Osama Bin Laden. He omitted to masterminding it. Yet there are still some people out there that believe there's some huge conspiracy, and that the real culprit is our own government. I just want to smack these people in the face.

There is no possible way for our government to pull this type of thing off and keep it such an utter secret. There would be just to many people involved. Eventually some big, rock solid proof would come out and it would be undone. And rock solid as in the guys who supposedly planted the bomb, or the top officials that gave the go ahead. These conspiracy nuts see these little inaccuracies in video footage and suddenly they think they have proof. Or you have people that hear rumors, and again suddenly it's fact in their eyes. Are people really that gullible that they will believe anything and everything that they hear?

So besides the fact that they wouldn't be able to keep it a secret, whats the motivation behind doing this? To invade Iraq and get the oil? Why then would they put the blame on a group (Al Qaueda) that has almost no ties with Iraq? And is in another country? If our government had all the resources, and gumption to pull something like this off and blame someone else, why then wouldn't they just point the finger at Saddam? It would have saved time, and there wouldn't have been another war going on while they fought in Iraq. On a side note, if our country was good enough to pull off 9/11 why then when they needed weapons of mass destruction in Iraq didn't they just put them there? If they're good enough for 9/11, you would think it would be a piece of cake to plant some nukes, or something.

These conspiracy nuts are just so full of hate and self loathing that they just want to tare down everything around them. They hate this great country so much that they will do and say anything to see it brought down. If you hate it that much get out. I won't apologise for what our country has to do to protect itself, and what it does to make sure that it's citizens have the best lives that they possibly can. But I know our great country wouldn't sink so low as to cause this horrible tragedy just to oust some dictator in another country and take the oil there. That's a load of bull, and you need to just shut your mouth.

Anyone That Thinks Gun Control Laws Will End Violent Crime Is An Idiot

Many people believe that if you strictly limit or ban guns, then the violent crime in America will stop. This is incredibly foolish because there is an inherent flaw in that thinking. And that is that those committing crimes have no qualms about breaking the law to get a gun. They're criminals, their very name implies that they don't have a problem breaking the law. So why then would they stop when they find out it's against the law to have a gun?

Aside from the fact that they're criminals and will break the law anyway. Violent crime will go on. People are violent. Plain and simple, they go out and hurt each other. If they have guns or not, they will hurt other people. Taking guns away will leave many people defenceless. Or would mean that other people won't be able to come to the rescue. Not to long ago there was a shooting at a mall up in Salt Lake. A man with a shotgun was going around and indiscriminately shooting people. A bystander who just so happened to have a gun decided he was going to do something about it. He pinned the man down until the police arrived. If guns had been banned then the bystander could have done nothing about the shooting, but watch it happen.

Now I will admit guns aren't for everyone. There are many people out there that just shouldn't be allowed to legally own a weapon. I'm talking about convicted felons, or the mentally unstable. I won't argue the fact that they shouldn't be allowed to have guns. But the hard working American, that just wants to protect their family? Yeah they have earned the right to carry a gun. They abide by the law, and when trouble rears its ugly head they should be able to do something about it.

Guns aren't the great evil that the liberal wing has led you to believe. Yes they can cause great harm, but so can a car. It all just depends on the person behind it that will dictate what it will do.

Vagabonds - A Leech on Society

There is no reason for a hardworking American to be without a job for so long that they have to start begging for handouts. There are tons of jobs out there, even if they are just fast food, a job is a job, and if you really have fallen on hard times then you have to take the job you can get. It pisses me off when I see the same bum, on the same street corner, with the sign saying, "fallen on hard times, please help." Get a friggin job. The eight hours a day you spend begging for money, could be spent finding a job, and then you wouldn't need the help.

The real reason these people aren't working (for the most part) is that they don't want to work. They would rather beg for a living, doing their own thing, and not have a 9 to 5 job. They cling to the belly of society and take all that they can from it. And the problem is that people allow them to. I've heard that some bums, can make quite a bit by begging. In some cases a ton more then if they had an actual job. I understand that there really are some people that need help, those with mental problems, or disabilities, or just for some reason are hard put to find a job. But do we really need to be spreading the idea that it's ok to be a bum, that we will spend our hard earned money, so you can sit on your but all day and do nothing? No. If you want to give money to the poor, then you should give the money to a shelter or give more money to the Church and let them dispense the money where its needed. Not the bum on the street that's just looking for a handout so he can go buy some more beer.

Another leech on society is welfare people. Talk about throwing your money to people that don't deserve it. I know there are some people that do need a little help from time to time. That's alright, I'm talking about the people who do everything they can to get on welfare and stay on welfare. Again it's a person that doesn't want to work and wants free money from the government. Why should my money go to these lazy bums? Welfare should either be like a loan, where you pay it back as soon as you get a job, or it should be changed from welfare to workfare. Those on welfare should have to do so many hours of either community service, or so many hours working for the state. I don't know why people get upset when you suggest this type of change either. You're already paying them, why shouldn't they be working for you?

I don't know it just pisses me off. Why does society allow these people to suck the life out of it. Eventually it needs to end, otherwise it's just a vicious circle, that will just keep repeating itself.

April Fools Day and My Mother

I think it would take a lot to be my mother, especially around April fools day. You see she has five boys, and they have a wide and deep sense of humor. For many years, we have taken it upon ourselves, to play practical jokes on our mother. In so much that she usually won't talk to us on or around April 1st.

Now these practical jokes range from all over the spectrum. Most of them however have to do with either getting married, or having another grandchild on the way. And every year we try to out do each other. One year those of us younger siblings, that weren't married yet sent fake engagement pictures, and she had to guess which one of us was getting married (nobody was). One of my favorites however, was by my oldest brother John. He planed and implemented a reverse April fools joke, meaning that he was pulling a prank on her, but it in fact was real. I won't go into to many of the details about it, but the gist of it was that he needed her to send a crib, showing that there was another grandchild on the way, but he let her know on April fools day. So she was happy, and then she was pissed when she realised what day it was. It wasn't until later that she found out that he was being for real.

I thought it was hilarious. So in the spirit of April fools day, I would just like my mother to think about all the things we have been talking about recently, and decide if I've been on the level of not. Happy April fools day mom!!!

The Best Relationships

As I look at the world around me, it seems that those people with the best relationships, were started in friendship.

Friendship as a base for a relationship brings with it an easy going nature, that doesn't always come when you've started a relationship based on attraction. The two individuals in the relationship are more able to be themselves, instead of trying to put on a mask of what they think the other wants. Wearing a mask almost always ends in failure because the mask will eventually have to come off. And the other person might not like what they see, which in turn causes more problems, because you've basically been lying to each other.

And it's not that relations starting out from attraction can move into friendship. It just seems to be a lot easier to be together, when you already are friends. There usually aren't as many barriers to take down, because you already know each other, and on some level like each other.

Having said that, and relating to my lack of a relationship, I think I'm gonna start trying to be friends with everyone. Now this will be kinda hard for me seeing as how I'm not the nicest or most open of person. And looking at my past history it seems that I have a very close knit set of friends, and it isn't always easy bringing new people in. But I think I can do it. And besides I've learned you can never have to many friends.

Where is 'art' going?

I enjoy art. I think it's a wonderful expression and representation of humanity. But then sometimes I think it goes just a little to far. Both in the realms of things that are just way to far out there, and things that just shouldn't have been done.

I was reading about some artists in the former Soviet Union, and how they were trying to express themselves. One such endeavor was a guy that buried himself under a mound of dung and had just a straw sticking out the top so that he could breath. What is that supposed to mean, or even prove? That's the kinda "art" that's just way to out there. How do you classify it as art? I just feel it's meaning less. It doesn't express anything, or show anything that a normal person would understand. I know it probably is a symbol for the oppression that artists at that time were going through, but that just doesn't really stick. How does it have a lasting effect? Like say for instance the Sistine Chapel. Now that is an amazing work of art that speaks to people. How does a man under a pile of poo, move anyone?

On the other side of things, where "art" shouldn't even have gone. I was reading the other day about how this spanish guy (Guillermo Habacuc Vargas) got this dog, chained it up, starved it to death, and called it art. Why? What is the point of that? It's cruel, and worthless. You say it's art because it goes against the norm, and because you are expressing the darker side of man. Art can show both the good and the bad, but you shouldn't have to create the darker side of "art" by causing more cruelty. I just don't see the point of it. There are far better ways to achieve your goal, and I think you did it because you have some morbid fascination with cruelty.

What will be next, stabbing a person, and calling it art? Burning down a house and calling it art? Just because you can doesn't always mean you should.

The World Will Come To An End...But Not Anytime Soon

I find it fascinating that the human condition has an underlying fear of being wiped out. Or not even being wiped out but being sent into another dark age. It's been portrayed in countless movies, and it seems like fairly recently the media has just had a band-wagon of dooms day type stuff. My three favorites and the ones that I see as fairly likely are: global warming, plague, and oil scarcity.

Global warming, where do I begin. I guess I would have to say that I don't really believe that it'll get so hot as to destroy all life. But I do believe that pollution among other things is having an adverse effect on our planets ecosystem. Climates are changing, it's getting hot, and it's getting hot all over. Polar icecaps are disappearing at an increased rate. Whole species and areas of wildlife are being destroyed. You can see it happening. Humanity is on a road that could leave the Earth barren and inhospitable for life. I don't think we are anywhere near that extreme, or even to a point that would cause irreparable damage.

The plague. It just sounds bad, and brings up images of death and destruction. Now there are two lines of thought that I put in with this. That eventually a super virus will be "bred" into existence, or a horrible bio weapon will be. Diseases are a living entity that adept just like everything else. But the theory now is that they will be pushed to a super variety with the help of humans. There are the anti-biotic strains that are now coming to light, or the government engineered killing machines. Both are out there. Do I think that they will kill everyone on Earth? Again that's a big fat no. The human immune system is a wonderful thing. It is vastly complex, and can adept almost as good or even better then diseases. So with like 6 billion people on the planet, there's bound to be more then a few that are immune.

Oil Scarcity just might be knocking at our door. Oil isn't a renewable resource and will eventually run out. And what are we doing but, using it up faster then ever before. Oil is at a record high $110 a barrel. Now either OPEC (curse them) is either trying to scam us, and take our money, or the oil is harder to get at. It leads to a whole list of problems. We could go to war and take the oil (wouldn't argue against that) or use every last drop and watch as civilization comes to a screeching halt. The only real solution is for someone to invent some new and cool energy source that we could use instead of oil.

Why be afraid of something you can't control anyway? It'll just get you upset.

Carpe Diem

Seize the day. I find myself in a bit of a quandary. I want to grab life by the horns, and to live everyday as if it were my last. Yet for some odd reason I'm increasingly falling into a straight boring habit and I'm more then ever concerned about the future. When did this all happen?

It seems like I do the same things day in and day out. Nothing is changing, nothing is exciting. Gone are the days, where on the spur of the moment I would be off having some crazy adventure. Gone are the days that I could drop everything and go party. Part of the that is my own fault. I've just gotten lazy, and put myself in a place where I would worry to much if I did. You might call that responsibility, but why do I need that? I don't have kids, I don't have a house payment. All I got to worry about is myself. And it's not only that I don't go do anything different, it's that everything I do is planned out, and if it's not planned I don't do it. It's like all of a sudden I've become a slave to scheduling. And I don't know how, or why it's gotten to that point.

I've also become obsessive about budgeting money. I have to know where every dollar is going, why it's going there, and what I can do to make sure less is being spent. Why is that? I really don't make all that much money, but I make enough to pay the bills, and have a little left over. What's the point of being so anal about it and being scarred about some future happening? Especially since I'm not making enough right now to be a huge factor in that future event.

I don't know. Maybe living on my own is making me see things in a different light. I know saving and budgeting is important and I accept that. I just want to break the habitual nature and get life to be one thrill after the next. But then doesn't everyone want that?

The Differences Between Men and Women

I'll just put a disclaimer at the beginning of this. Some of you may get offended by what I have to say. I won't apologise for it. Just understand that this is my opinion and I'm just telling you how I see the world. I also understand that there is an exception to every rule.

There are three main differences between men and women. First and largest difference is emotional stability. Second is their ability to resolve conflicts. And last of all is their basic way of thinking.

1. Emotional Stability covers a wide range of topics and in part has a baring on the other differences between the sexes. A mans emotional responses are easy to follow. He's happy. Something happens, he's sad. Something else happens, he gets angry. There are steps that he goes through, and it's pretty easy to know where he is, and where it might lead to. A man also likes order/stability. He usually won't jump into the middle of things without knowing what's going on, or what he risks by going in. A man will not ask another man what's wrong with his life and how can he help. A man is either told or he's not that's enough for the man. Women are vastly more complicated. I have a very hard time understanding women. And most of the time, I am completely lost. Because women thrive on drama. Their entire life revolves around drama. Whether it's freaking out about what to wear or getting involved in everyone else's problems. Not only that, but it's next to impossible to gauge a woman's mood. One minute they can be as happy as a clam, the very next second without any known difference they are ready to take somebodies head off. Not only is there no telling what caused the problem, they won't tell you what the problem is because for some apparent reason you should already know what the problem is.

2. Resolving Conflicts. Men seem to be a lot more straight forward then women. In friendships, intimate relationships, or in arguments. A man doesn't need to ask another man if they're friends. A man doesn't need to be consistently reminded that he's hansom, or told daily that she's happy being with him. Man is simplest when it comes to someone that they don't like. Everyone including the two in the fight know that they don't like each other. And if it comes to fists, they do the deed and then leave each other be. Women are a lot more round about when it comes to these types of things. Women seem to need to be constantly reminded about how much you like them, or how pretty they are, or how you are feeling. The real kicker is when they're in an argument with someone. Sometimes you can't even tell. They don't look mad or act mad. But eventually you say/do something, and they explode. It's usually something super insignificant, like putting your feet on the couch. And it's never about putting your feet up, it's about something that happened two weeks ago, that you should have known about and done something about, but you didn't even know. And they sure as hell won't tell you. My personal favorite (the ones I'm not involved in) is when girls are fighting other girls. They will be your best friend to your face, but will be planning all along to stab you in the back. Here's a true story. A girl I know (we'll call her Starla) was dumped by her boyfriend, for another girl (we'll call her Marla). Marla needed a job, and went to Starla's place of work to see about getting a job there. Starla knew that she had been dumped for Marla, and decided to help Marla get the job, and be all buddy-buddy with her. From the moment Marla got the job, Starla did everything in her power to make Marla's life a living hell, and to get her fired. Not to Marla's face mind you, but by talking to co-workers and bosses. Does that sound like something a man would do? I can't fathom the thought process you would need to go through to do that.

3. Basic ways of thinking. Like I said before, men are pretty straight forward. And that also translates to how they think. If I do this and this, then this will happen. A + B = C. Pretty simple, everyone can follow it, and it gets the job done. Women quite often jump out of left field. A + B = 11. Where the hell did that come from? Here's a situation out of the Utah dating arena. Man goes up to woman and asks her on a date. Man thinks, "you're cute." Woman thinks, "holy crap he wants to get married!" If I even began to try and comprehend that thought process, I would have a massive brain aneurysm and die. I just don't understand it. Things like this happen all the time. Something a man thinks is simple, or easily followed. A woman will blow it out of proportion, or bring something to the table that has very little or nothing to do with what the man thinks.

Men and women are vastly different. Sometimes I think all women are just plain crazy, but I suppose since men and women do compliment each other that's just how it's supposed to be. I just wish that I could understand sometimes.

Let's Be Honest

We tell lies when we are afraid... afraid of what we don't know, afraid of what others will think, afraid of what will be found out about us. But every time we tell a lie, the thing that we fear grows stronger. ~Tad Williams

In my opinion honesty is one of the greatest qualities a person can have. It's oh so rare, and society seems to want to make you believe that it's not all that great. But society is wrong. Honesty is a wonderful thing. It frees you from worries. You don't have that guilt hanging over your head. For the most part you feel good when you tell the truth. (Sometimes the truth hurts, but it's better then the fake feeling a lie gives) Now I try to be honest. Sometimes I can be brutaly honest, which isn't always a great thing. I don't hide what I think, or what I do. And it makes life easier in a lot of ways. It puts everybody on the same page. They know where my head is at. Besides that, who cares what other people think about you? The only one that it matters with, is you.

I just don't understand. Why can't we be honest? Why is it so hard for some people to tell the truth? At my work 90% of the time all I hear are lies. Sometimes it's a lie about the smallest, most pointless thing ever, and yet it's still a lie. Why even bother? Now sometimes I understand a lie or a bending of the truth is necessary to spare someones feelings. But most of the time you can be honest and still spare their feelings.

Telling a lie can get you into a lot of trouble too. I'm not just talking about telling a lie to someone, but telling a lie to yourself. Some people act like something they're not, mostly to impress someone else. I think it's horrible. You should be able to act like yourself and not pretend to be something you're not. In relationships it causes major problems, because suddenly you're deep in a relationship (marriage) and you drop the mask of this person you aren't. Oh no, everything just seems to fall apart. All because you weren't being truthfull to who you are.

I say, just be honest. It makes things a whole lot easier. And we would in general be a whole lot happier with our lives.

I Weep For The Future

If a civilization were judged based on it's least adept citizens... the upcoming crop of adults would be a horrible failure.

These kids are dishonest, lazy, vicious, little cry babies that wouldn't survive life if they weren't actually being caried along by the generation that came before them.
- For some reason they refuse to tell the truth. It's ingrained in their heads that they shouldn't tell the truth. Even if they aren't going to get into trouble they still won't tell the truth.
- They don't even have a work ethic, let alone a poor one. You give them a task to do and they either wine and complain until you force them to do it, or they simply won't do it.
- They are mean. They take offense to everything and will do whatever they have to to make sure they get you back. Not only that they will ridicule a person they see as inferior to the point where that person wants to kill themselves.
- Talk about a bunch of babies. They make a fuss about everything. Whatever you tell them to do it's always to hard. If you try to reprimand them you're being unfair. Their life is just so hard. BOOHOO.
Give me a friggin break. They live in the greatest country in the world, and no matter how poor or hard their lives get, it's still ten times better then the rest of the world.

Now maybe my thoughts are a little squed do to the fact that I work in a home for delinquents, but the kids that I work with at my other job aren't all that great either. Yeah they don't have the same amount of clear problems the kids in the home do, but they still have them to at least some degree. It makes me want to scream sometimes. Like if you're going to get a job, you had better be prepared to work. Not sit on your but doing as little as possible, take a 15 minute break every hour, and expect your every wim to be catered to. That's not how life works. You need to grow up, take responsibility for yourselves, and learn how to benefit society and not be a hinderence.

So just grow up, or you'll find me there ready to smack some sense into you. And I sure as hell won't be gentle.

A Word On The Therory of Evolution

What a load of hogwash! I for one am not a descendant of a monkey. It's just plain foolishness. A couple of things in my mind just don't add up.

For starters, evolution says that animals change/adept based on their surroundings. Ok, how have humans changed? Scientests say humans have been on the earth between 200,000 and 400,000 years. So let's say in the last 100,000 years, how have humans as a whole changed? We havent. Dig up some old bones, put them together, and they are the same as bones from somebody who died yesterday. Humans haven't grown extra appendages, or organs, or anything like that. They are exactly the same. And if humans have been around for that long shouldn't there have been some kind of major change? You might try to argue that humans as a whole are taller. I don't know how you can measure every human or know how tall they all were 100,000 years ago. And besides there are still plenty of short people. You say humans are getting fatter. And maybe they are in some places, but that's a learned trait. They aren't being born fat. There just hasn't been a significant change, and according to evolution there should have been.

My second problem is the ability of animals to keep the environment in balance. They don't by themselves overbreed, or over graze, or over hunt. They keep the ecosystem in balance. All animals instinctively know how to do this. Why do humans have such a problem with this? Humans overbreed, over eat, and just in general will usually destroy and over use what ever is around them. If humans evolved like everything else, they would know their limits and stop. Their evolutionary traits would take over and bring them back to harmony with nature. They certainly don't do that. How could we have possibly evolved from monkeys then? They do it, why don't we? Because evolution is a load of crap.

Now I'm not exactly a stalwart defender of the literal translation of 7 days and have done with it, if you know what I mean. God is an all knowing being of truth. Real, pure science is truth. He did create us, and everything in our pure forms. And yes he might have done it over a long period of time, but in my mind it was more of a building process. You learn how to do one thing, then you go a little bit more complex, and then a little bit more and so on. Compare creating the earth and everything on it to building a nuclear powered submarine. You can't just dive right in. You use building blocks. Learn how to weld, how to create nuclear fission, hydralics, lighting, pluming, etc... You need to know how to create and use each individual thing to create the whole submarine. Now does that mean that the one screw was eventually turned into the sub, no. It just means it's a vital part of the whole. Now for humans and the earth, single celled organisms are the basis (the screw). You need to know how to make it, and use it before you can move to bigger things (humans). Yes it's a necessary part, but that doesn't mean that's where the whole came from.

Or maybe I'm just talking out of my ass. And maybe I couldn't quite express my point all that well, but it just seems to me that evolution doesn't add up.

Flirting With Crazy

I've decided I'm going to make a conscience effort to go out and socialize with people. Face to face and have an actual conversation with them. Now here's my reasoning behind that...

Just a few days ago it was pay day. I was torn between going and spending my money, or squirreling it away and saving it. I really didn't know what to do. I was getting frustrated, and angry. On the one side there's the idea that its my money and I've worked hard for it. Why shouldn't I be allowed to spend it? And on the other, I don't want to be working for the rest of my life, and I do need a little back up for emergencies. The arguement was getting pretty heated, and vocal. When all of a sudden I yelled, "It's my money, why shouldn't I spend it?"

That's when I took a step back and realised, I was arguing with myself, out loud. I had a bit of a laugh over it and thought wow, that's getting a little nuts. Not like call the men in white jackets nuts. More like the old man, in the winter coat, in the middle of summer, yelling at the sky. I do not want to become that man. And if I were just to let the course follow where it's going, I would bet money that's about where it would end up.

My solution is to talk with every person I meet. Doesn't have to be much, but just a greeting and some pleasantries. That's all, just to be vocal. And most important to have an actual person there, so I don't get used to talking to myself.

The Downfall of American Civilization

As I walk through life I see things that could spell the downfall of American Civilizaion if they aren't curtailed soon. The top three being; internet dating, drugs, and gay rights.

Internet dating is a travesty. It lessens inter personal skills, and gives a hollow meaningless impression of the real thing. Now I'm not against using the internet to find people of a like mindset. I'm against the idea of carrying an entire relation over the internet. People need to have physical contact with eachother, not only that they need verbal communication. Typing to one another doesn't get the whole idea out, or for that matter you can't truly know someone without meeting them face to face. I believe internet dating hurts our articulating ability, our ability to interact in a normal environment, and in the future could absorb our entire dating interests.

Do I really need to expound on drugs? Drugs are a scourge in America and we should treat it as such. It destroys people, familys, and communities. I work with kids who have almost completly ruined their lives because they were under the influence of drugs. Now that's not saying they're not responsible for their own actions, but once you are hooked, that's pretty much it, game over. It's next to immposible to kick the habbit by yourself. Some of these kids will never be able to kick the habbit. Some will die becuase of it. Some will spend the rest of their lives behind bars because of it. Some of these kids have done irreperable damage to their bodies and minds. These kids are a strain on society already, and they're just kids! Most will be a strain or hinderence for years to come.

Gay Rights just annoy me. Specificaly gays being allowed to marry and adopt kids. Problem number one, marriage is between a man and woman. End of story, it can't get much clearer then that. If you cross that line where does it end? Eventually someone will come along and want to push it even further. I don't need to expound on that but I'm sure you know where I'm going. Gay marriage destroys the moral fibre of family. A man and woman compliment each other in all things (remove the points that cause fights, divorce, and people that rushed into marriage out of the equation). That does include running a house, and raising childered. But it's also on an emotional and psycological level. Together they equal a whole piece. That's how it was ment. You can't dance right with two left feet. You need a left and a right to do it properly. And aside from that whole aspect becuase someone could argue it's all about personality (it's not by the way), if there were only gays in the world the human race would end in a single generation. Does that in itself not explain the unnaturalness of "gay?" That seems pretty self explanitory to me.

It seems to me the Human Race is the only one that is bent on destroying itself through its own actions. Actions that can be stopped if we just try to take adequate steps to solve it. But alas we don't or won't.

Steps to Resolving Conflicts with Teens

Occasionally you might find yourself in an argument with a teen or anyone for that matter. You might find that the argument is going nowhere fast and getting a little out of hand. I have just a few simple steps to resolve the situation.

Step #1: The individual is in your face and is looking like they might shed some physical violence your way. Send some their way, just so they know you mean business. Start with a wrist-lock to stop their momentum. Then move into an arm-lock to immobilize them.

Step #2: While you have them in an arm-lock, suggest they position themselves flat on the ground. If they refuse, shift your weight and throw them to the ground. When they hit the ground re-establish the arm-lock and pin their shoulder to the ground by moving their arm to a 90 degree angle to the floor and adding a slight downward pressure.

Step #3: Reiterate your argument and explain why they are wrong. You have all the time in the world cause they aren't going anywhere. Hold this position until the individual is calm, and someone else is there to help you.

Step #4: With this second person's help, and while keeping an arm-lock, lift the individual off the floor. Escort the individual to a secure place and release. Conflict Resolved.

So in case you haven't guessed it already, I got to restrain a kid at the group home. I wasn't having an argument with him, but he wasn't liking what some of his peers were saying/doing. He tried going after one of them, and that's when I stepped in. It was actually a lot of fun, and it did effectively end the argument they were having.

Loyalty

I think that one of the greatest and worst characteristic a person can have is loyalty. On the good end you stick it out no matter what. And on the bad end you're still sticking it out even if you should have jumped ship long ago.

I am extremely loyal, loyal to a fault. When someone gets into the 'Inner Circle,' they are in. I will stand by them and do anything for them. If they need help, I do everything in my power for them. Even if I haven't talked to this person in months or years, the minute they need me I'm there. I also stand up for them. If someone is bad mouthing, or even threatening physical violence against them, I'd be the first one to go to bat for them.

Now it is pretty hard to get into the 'Inner Circle,' but it's next to impossible to get out. I've found on a couple of occasions (almost entirely involving girls) that I should have jumped ship. It seems that there are some people that have made it to the 'Inner Circle' that just aren't good for me, and bring me down. But for some reason I have this adamant loyalty that won't let me, let them go. Most recently there's this girl that's on a self destructive path, and is trying to pull me down with her. I know I should just cut my losses, but I can't. No matter how hard I try, or how mean she gets, I can't stop trying to help her. It just tares me up when I do. Right now I'm trying the whole ignore thing, but that doesn't work cause it just makes me think even more of how can I help.

It's just part of my nature I guess. But man o' man it sure can get me into a lot of trouble.

The U.N. Can Go Suck An Egg

Have I mentioned lately how much I despise Hilary Clinton? As part of her Presidential Platform she wants to strengthen America's standing in the world. She wants to do this by: ending the Iraq war; increase support of the U.N. and have them take care of the worlds problems; and begin sending money to third world countries so that children there can go to school.

1. Just saying you will end the Iraq war doesn't mean it will happen. She has no idea how to do it. If she did she would have already proposed it. And frankly I don't want to see troops pulled out. For starters I don't want to see the flow of oil to stop. That might not be a politically correct thing to say, but damn it I sure don't want to be paying $7 a gallon. And secondly there hasn't been a major attack on American soil. Hmm maybe that's because all the terrorists are busy in Iraq, fighting trained soldiers instead of over here.

2. The U.N. would not exist without the U.S. period, end of story. Also why would I want everything in the hands of a bunch of people that don't have my best intentions at heart? What's good for the world isn't always what's good for America. We're the biggest and baddest country around why shouldn't we act like it?

3. We don't have enough money to support our own schools, why would we be sending money to other countries to help theirs. You say that everyone needs an education. Ok, but where does it end? Even if they do get some education, they will still be at the bottom of the economic ladder, and it will all be for naught. Then you'll have to spend more of our money for higher education, because they will still be a third world country. It's a never ending cycle, until eventually we are the ones lagging behind. Bah why not put the money into higher education at home, so that we can have some one that can make something that can really help the world out?

In short the U.N. is worthless, and so is Hillary.

Not Another Emo Teen

In some cultures they just off people that are so utterly useless to society. Having said that I put this forth... People who wallow in their own self made misery should not be allowed in public.

I really can't stand and usually have very little patience with people who lament over every little imaginary tragedy in their life. For the most part it's all in their head. They are to self absorbed in their imaginary problems that they can't see just how good life is. And this usually comes from people that have everything. I'm talking about the white/suburban/middle income/well educated/two parent household kind of person. They have everything, and yet they are still unhappy with their life. They are better of then 90% of the world and yet for some reason they feel the world is unfair, and that they've been mistreated. Get a friggin grip.

I understand that occasionally there are a few people that have an actual medical problem. Ok, but that really doesn't cover all the kids out there that dress up in all black, listening to music about how society has left them by the wayside. It just annoys me to no end. I know people like this, even dated a few (my mistake).

What in the hell is wrong with them? Get a grip on yourselves and move ahead in life. You don't have it that bad. You do have friends/family that care about you. And if everything is pushing in on you that bad, it's because you made it that way. So deal with it, and stop pushing your problems onto everyone/everything else!

My Ideal Girl

As with everyone there are certain aspects that I look for in a member of the opposite sex. I would tell you what they are so you can help with my search.

Physical:
Blond Hair, Blue Eyes, Between 5'5" and 5'8", athletic, cute - I know that everyone is cute to someone and I would have to decide if they were cute for myself when I see them

Personality/Character:
Intelligent - I'm not just talking book smarts, I'm talking about someone that I can have a prolonged conversation with, without a lot of uhms, and ah I don't knows in there; Good sense of Humor - lets face it, if she don't have a strong wide sense of humor, she ain't gonna be around me for long; Caring; Honest; Outgoing - she doesn't have to be the center of attention; Friendly - she needs to be able to at least make polite conversation with strangers, cause sometimes she might find herself with a group of my friends that she doesn't know; Determined - I would like someone that knows what they want and goes for it, I don't want to have to make all the decisions; Straight Forward - I don't like beating around the bush, get to the point; Happy - nobody likes a sour grape

Other:
A Proficient Cook - I like to eat but I don't always like having to make the meal; Republican - I don't see 'eye to eye' with liberals; LDS or at least Christian - I don't see 'eye to eye' with atheists;

Most Important:
Unknown - there is an undefinable characteristic that I find most appealing, I don't know how to describe it, it's like an infectious spark that when I see them I can't help but smile and feel good, and then they smile and they just seem to "light up". If you know Liz, Jaelle, Katie, Brooke, Brenda, Sheri, Andie, or Aubrey you know the girls that I find this 'spark' in. And it seems with this unknown, the people that have it really stand out in my mind, and I can see that they have it the first time I meet them, usually.

Now I'm not saying that all of these things are needed, specifically the physical (cause if I find them attractive, what does it matter if they're not a blue eyed blond), but it helps. These are just some of the things that I know I like.

I Need A Haircut Among Other Things

My hair is getting way to long. It's long enough to hang over my collar. It's long enough that the first thing my friends tell me when they see me is "Get a haircut." And it's not just that it's long. It would make it so much easier to defend if that was the only problem. The real problem is that it's so stink unmanageable. It does what ever it wants, and goes where ever it wants, there is no controlling it. I don't know what to do. On the one hand, I really do hate long uncontrollable hair. And on the other, I just don't really like going and getting it cut. There does come a point however where it becomes so unmanageable that I just have to go and get it cut. I just haven't gotten to that point yet.

I also need to get myself a girlfriend. To get a girlfriend I need to go on dates. To go on dates I need to know girls. Since I don't know many girls, I rely on my friends to help me out. Since my friends don't know to many girls, I'm screwed. In some respects I don't really want a girlfriend cause I don't want to put up with all the drama that it entails. But on the other hand it's really nice just to have someone around, and I'm feeling left out since both of my roommates now have girlfriends, and I haven't been on a date in like three months. There are a couple of prospects that I would like to date, but unfortunately they have taken themselves out of the equation. Blast!

I also need to start expanding my mind. Not with drugs! But with learning, and I'm not really even talking about going to school. Just keeping up with current events, and having a broader general knowledge. It seems just in general conversations I'm behind the times in almost every topic. I don't know maybe I should start reading the paper, or maybe something that isn't a complete work of fiction.

O What A Wonderful Christmas

I started out my day by getting up at 6am. Driving to John's house through what can only be described as easily fixed driving conditions. It would have been easily fixed if the plows had been out doing their jobs. I got to John's at around 7. I said hi and merry Christmas to everyone, I said happy Hanuka to Emma but i don't think she knew how to respond to that. I started opening presents. They were exactly what I had asked for, dad just seems to know what to get. A waffle iron (I do love to eat), wool socks (I do love warm feet), new Dr Scholls sneakers (I needed some new kicks, and i love these, they are by far the most comfortable things ever), and then mom put the icing on the cake with a brand new brown jacket (it's not corduroy, but man o' man it sure is nice, almost to nice to wear out, but there's no way in hell I'm gonna let it just lay around).

Left John's at about 7:30 had to turn around and go back because I forgot my scarf and it was way to cold to be getting around without it. Got to work a little late and I've just been sitting around eating pizza, and watching movies since. Not exactly a traditional Christmas, but it ain't to bad. Could be worse I could be in the hospital with some sort of melting disease. Cause I think if there's one bad way to go it would be to slowly melt away.

Anyway, Merry Christmas!!!

Another Job!!!

Yes it's true I decided I'm not working enough during the week so I went and got my self a second job. It is just part time (28 hours a week), and it's only working four days a week. But it ain't all that hard seeing as how I've done the job before. You probably could guess what I'm doing, it's working at another car wash!

Now you might say that it's a step backwards, but in my mind it's not. It's only part time and it's not my primary source of income. Also there are a lot of people there that are my own age (or at least closer). I need to have a more diverse social life, and the car wash is usually very social. So why not make a few extra bucks (I made $100 in tips on Christmas eve), and meet a few new people. No harm in that.

At least I didn't go back to working fast food.

That didn't last too long.

Yeah so the beard didn't last to long. I trimmed it back to just the goatee. I still got the long hair going. You know it was just that the beard was getting way to itchy for me. Oh well.

I Am Not Subtle

To begin the story you need to understand that I have worked in the service industry for a number of years. Both in fast food, and car washing. I've had to deal with some real a-holes. I now no longer have to. Having said that I lead you to the real story.

I was at the grocery store the other day (Smiths), buying some food and stuff just like everyone else and minding my own business. I get my stuff together and I proceed to the check out. Usually I would go to the do it yourself ones, but I felt kinda lazy that day, not to mention there was a fairly attractive cashier. In line ahead of me is an older lady with a modest amount of food. I don't think to much of it, I don't have anything else to do that day. So who cares. She gets all her food through and I think she's about to pay, but wait a second that's not cash she's pulling out, it's coupons!!! Ok, no biggie not that big of a deal. Well the cashier seemed to be new, and didn't have everything down, but she got through it alright. That is until she came to one coupon that just so happened to be expired. The cashier very nicely, and politely tells this lady she can't accept the coupon because it had expired. The older lady puts her hands on her hips and says what do you mean its expired? The cashier again very politely tells her and shows her that the coupon has expired.

And that is when all hell breaks loose. This older lady just goes off on the cashier. Just belittling her, asking her how hard is it to scan food and take money. Calling her stupid, incompetent, and a lire! I mean this lady was just going to town. I listened to all I could handle and then I to let loose.

I calmly walked up to her and said "Mam, you need to shut your mouth. You're actually going to personally attack this girl for doing her job because you aren't gonna save like 67 cents. You must be out of your cotton picking mind. Just pay the damn bill and go home. And the next time you feel like coming out...DON'T!" She wasn't exactly pleased with that but she was either embarrassed enough, or the fact that I was looking like a pissed off wild man, that she paid the cashier and left without saying another word.

I don't know why people have to be jerks to strangers but it seems they just do. I don't know if they just have it in their heads that since this person is doing a service for me that they are lower then them or something. I had to deal with people like that all the time, just because I was a car washer. I won't put up with it. I don't care who you are or what you do, you don't have the right to be a complete jerk. Since the person they are yelling at can't do anything about it or risk loosing their job, I sure will. And I won't be nice.

Why am I not Fat?

I don't eat all that healthy. And I eat a lot. I was just getting done with my breakfast the other day. (2 doughnuts, 3 mini-muffins, a cup of yogurt, and an ensure breakfast shake) I was putting the some stuff away, and I happened to look down at the nutrition label for the mini-muffins. I saw that each muffin had 100 calories, 26 carbs, and a couple of grams of protien. These things are small, they are litterally bite size. I was stuned. So I looked up the rest of the nutrition facts for that meal. All in all, there were about 1200 calories, 400 carbs, and like 40 grams of protien.

That's insane. There are some people that don't get that in a day, and I ate it in a single meal. Now that meal was a little on the high side of things, but it's not to far from what I get in nutrition in every meal. I just don't understand why I can't gain weight. Yeah I understand I have a high metabolism, and yeah I exercise, but that's just rediculous. But man it tastes good!!!

Grizzly Adams Look Alike

I really hate to shave. It's this long process where I cut myself up something fierce, and then the very next day it's back looking like I didn't shave. It's a waste of my time. So I'm not going to do it anymore. I'll probably still shave my neck because that itches like crazy. As for the rest of it, I'm going to let it grow.

Which brings me to my next point. I don't like to get my hair cut. Again it's another ordeal, I got to go somewhere, (now that my roommate that was cutting my hair moved) make some pointless non-necessary small talk with some stranger, pay some retarded amount, ($12) and in like a week or two I need another cut. What's the point of that? I think I'm gonna let that one grow too.

I don't know why. Maybe I'm just lazy, or maybe I just look dead sexy with long hair. But unless there's a strong turn of events, I'm just gonna let them grow. (Or if the beard starts to itch to much)

Who's the idiot?

Apparently I work for some complete morons. Just try and explain this one to me. As I said in an earlier blog, they are planning on remodeling the bathroom at work. What they didn't mention is that they are doing it at night. Yes, that's right at night. And not just a semi-normal 6 to 11 type of thing. They're doing it from 8pm to 8am.

Does this seem stupid to anyone else? These kids are a little crazed as it is. Put them on no sleep and it's just gonna be a mad house here. And they aren't getting any sleep. The construction guys are loud! They're not even trying to be quiet.

I think there might have just been a little bit of poor planning going into this. But oh well, least I won't be the one getting my but chewed for it.

Danish or Muffin?

I love to eat. I really love to eat sweets. Which makes breakfast one of my favorite meals because it's the only one that you can get away with eating sweets and still be able to call it a meal.

Case in point, I opened my fridge this morning just before I went to bed and had quite a dilemma. I had to choose between a piece of raspberry danish or a jumbo chocolate chocolate chip muffin. Suffice it to say I had been up all night and my power of reasoning wasn't all that good. But on one side you have a tart and sweet pastry, that can be warmed up for extra goodness. On the other you have the all mighty lure of chocolate. I really just couldn't decide which I wanted more.

So as the danish was being heated, I ate the muffin. And that's when the thought occurred to me, how is this even a meal? There probably isn't to much actual nutrition in it, except for maybe the calories and carbs. It's really a treat that we've convinced ourselves could replace a proper meal. My solution, drink a glass of milk with it.

And oh yeah, who cares its only breakfast, and I'm gonna be sleeping for the next eight hours anyway.

I'm Rather Pissed

So, I want to move up to this house in Highland with Chris. It's his Uncle's house, and it's super nice. My current room mate Oz was going to move up there too. Now, for the last couple of months I was given a certain price for the rent. Then just today they decided to raise the price up $50 per person. Yeah it's only $50, and yeah the house is probably still worth way more then what we would be paying. The thing is we were told a price and that's what we were expecting to pay. You shouldn't just change it last minute and expect everything to be fine.

The original price was the max I was willing to pay to live somewhere. I don't need to pay tons of money for an apartment or anything. I'm not married, and I don't make a ton of money. I just wouldn't move into a place that costs that much. I've had to do a ton of crap to move up there. I had to change my schedule at work, because it will be an hour drive just to get there. I had to get someone to take over the apartment. I don't know what Missy will do if she can't move in. We just might be out of an apartment for awhile. Oz won't be able to afford it now, because he's being put onto part time at his work, not to mention the half hour drive it will take to get to work. And Oz's parents have put down a bit for him to move up there, not to mention looking at getting a bunch of furniture to put in there.

I can see where Chris and his Uncle are coming from, but I just think it's a load of bull that they would change the price at the last minute. Especially after everything that we had to do to be able to move in. If they had just said that price we would just have said no and that would have been the end of that, no problem. Now I'm just pissed. It's not just Oz and I are that's being affected either, it's a bunch of people. We won't move in at that price, he cant and I just wont. Its sad I really want to move in, but it sure pisses me off.

Flirting With Disaster

Here's an interesting little story. I went shooting this past weekend. I've got a fairly good gun, a Smith & Wesson 40ve. It's fairly well made, and I haven't had any major problems with it. I only put 50 rounds through it this time, but I wanted to take it apart and clean it. I get home and try breaking it down. For some strange reason it wasn't coming. For a while I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, until I noticed that the bore spring was fully extended. I thought that was a little odd, but I'm able to get the spring out and the gun comes apart with ease.

That's when I noticed something was horribly wrong. The bore slider, that holds the spring compressed and keeps the two halves of the gun lined up, wasn't there. I think maybe it fell out when I was taking it apart and I just didn't notice. No, it wasn't there at all. It wasn't in my apartment, it wasn't in my car. At some point while we were shooting, it must have ejected out the front of my gun!

In case you don't understand, this is extremely bad. Any number of things could have gone horribly wrong. It really did scare the crap out of me, it could have blown up in my hand. I just couldn't believe it. Suffice it to say, on that day I was one lucky guy.

I of course won't be shooting it till I get that piece replaced. Not just because it's a very necessary piece, but I can't even get the gun back together with out that one piece. Holy crap that was nuts!

The Three Strikes Rule

Ok, so here I am, 23, in Provo, Utah. I've been out on a date once or twice, and there are many things about the "dating" scene that I think are just retarded. My biggest problem is the whole; do I like her, does she like me, should I ask her out again, what should I do? I came up with the 'Three Strikes Rule.'

These rules really only apply when you are first meeting someone/slash dating them but haven't gotten all that serious with them yet. If this person gets three strikes, they are out. You don't call them, hang out with them, or socially interact.

Now you can give strikes for any number of reasons. Anything you don't like about them is a strike. If they are liberal, or vegetarians, or have an annoying laugh. You can take strikes away too. For things you like about the person, if they are a really good cook, or a just hilarious. It all has to balance out. But once you get to three strikes, it's over.

There is also an automatic, no refunds strikeout rule. If you ask them out three times in a row, and she denies you every time, it's over. Let's face it, if you deny someone three times in a row, you're probably not interested. So just cut it. And even if there is interest from the other party, they obviously aren't making any effort, so again cut it. This one is the end all rule, you can't go back on it. Now there is a clause on this, if she ends up calling you up and asking you out, then you can be in play for one more round. But under no circumstances are you allowed to make the move, and try again. Even if an opportunity presents itself.

These are my rules, and I try to live by them. There are probably a few girls that have wondered why I don't call anymore. Well there you have it. I know there are a couple of girls that have gotten the no refunds strikeout rule, and wonder why. Yes, I might like them, but they hit that mark, and I gots to stick to my rules.

You win some, you lose some.

Wool socks and thermal underwear are the bee's knees!

I have fun when I put my bum in a seat.
Because I've got wool socks on my feet.

Wool socks have to be the greatest invention since sliced bread. They're soft, warm, and oh so comfortable. I do love getting new socks, but getting new wool socks is just a huge step up from the normal.

I'm reminded of that one Christmas that all dad wanted was new socks. And at the time I thought that it was a little bit odd, if not closer to crazy. Yet now, I understand why he would want that. Heck, I could even see myself saying the same thing. I love wool socks. The one down side though is that I can only wear them with my boots. My other shoes don't fit when I have the wool socks on. It makes me sad, and I almost go out and buy bigger shoes, but then that really would be crazy.

Then I come to thermal underwear. You know you look like a dork when you wear them, but man o man, on a cold day they can't be beat. Say you wake up, and your face is cold and you think if I get out of this bed it's gonna be freezing. Then you realize, I'm wearing thermal underwear. Hurray! You can get out of bed without being cold. That's one thing I hate, getting out of a nice warm bed into a freezing cold room. I think that is why I was always late in high school, I didn't want to get out of the warm bed. That's not a problem now. I wear the long johns, and I stay just as warm as ever. Not only that, but when I go to work the graves, and the furnace isn't working and it drops below freezing outside. I can wear the thermals there too, and not have the slightest problem with the cold.

To me it's just so nice to be in the cold when I've got the warmest, most comfortable clothing possible. The only down side is that the thermal clothing is just a bit more expensive. But it's worth it!

An Awesome House

So Christopher made a proposition to me... If I would move into the house that he is staying at? I said yes.

It's up in the Highland, Alpine area right at the mouth of American Fork Canyon. It's freaking sweet! The house has, 4 bedrooms, 3 showers, 1 other toilet, 3 fire places, and is just insanely huge. I can't express in words just how cool this house really is.

We are gonna have so much fun up there. Partying, and playing all the time, just like we used to when we were younger. I can't exactly say we're grown up, since we still find fart jokes hilarious! My roommate Ozz is gonna be moving up there to. It'll be kind of a long drive to work, but if I do just doubles, it'll work out, and Chris might get me a job at the place he works at too. I can barley contain my joy.

Now all I have to do is sell my contract. Let's hope Missy will be able to take it off my hands.

Your Tax Dollars at Work

My place of employment is almost entirely funded be the government.

It makes me mad when I work with a kid that is illegal. When I mean illegal, I mean he's got no papers, can't speak much english, and ran across the border. He comes to our country and breaks the law. (other then the whole coming over illegally) We know he shouldn't be here and yet we don't deport him or his family. Instead we spend 10s of thousands of dollars, keeping him here. Trying to clean him up, and fix the errors of his ways. That really pisses me off, lets fix it by sending him back to his own country, and letting them deal with it.

I come into work one day, and my boss is telling me about some of the new renovations they're gonna be putting in. My favorite is the $70,000 be put into a new bathroom. Yes, that's right seventy thousand dollars being put into a new bathroom. I heard this and I thought there's no way they can spend that much on a bathroom for these kids. Kids that have a pretty bad habit of destroying everything they get. I ask him if what I heard was correct. Yes it is.

It's one thing to want to help these kids. It's an entirely different thing to be wasting that much money. These kids don't take care of anything, let alone a bathroom that isn't even in their house. I just see this ending very tragically. I can see the need for up keeping, but dang that's a lot of money.

Afraid You Say, but Why?

Why do we get scared? Why do we get scared of things that aren't there? Why does our mind play tricks on us that put us into hysterics?

You're walking in the woods on a dark night. The hairs on the back of your neck stick up. Your pulse starts beating just a little bit faster. You can't see very far, but you feel certain something is there, just behind you, waiting to pounce. You say no, there can't be anything there, there isn't anything there. Yet with every passing second you get more scared, and are completely certain that something will jump out at you. Even though you are certain nothing is there. You walk faster. You won't look behind you cause you feel something is there. It's right behind you on your heels, you begin to panic a little bit. Even though you know nothing is there. You won't stop for anything. You just keep going. You can't stop until you are completely safe, even though nothing is there.

What the crap is the point of that? Don't tell me it hasn't happened to you. Maybe not that exact scenario, but probably something like it. You get scared for some unknown reason. It might not even be to a really high degree, but you just feel it. I don't understand. I'm walking outside at night. Yes it's dark, yes it's very quiet out. I've done it a hundred times, and yet every once in awhile I think something is there. Nothing is, I can look all around with my flashlight, find nothing, and that feeling stays with me.

It kinda gets me mad. Why? Why does that happen? Is that mind just so polluted with horror stories that anytime you're out and about it'll start making one for you? Why can't the rational mind win? You know for a fact nothing is there, but that feeling just won't go away. I'm not one to be scared all that easily. Movies don't do it, nor haunted houses. But every so often my mind will play tricks on me that I just can't shrug off.

I understand being scared of water, or heights, or death, or public speaking. But to be afraid of an imaginary thing just doesn't fit. You have control of yourself in almost all aspects, but this is just above you somehow. The only thing I can do is when I start to get that feeling, I stop and I face it. I look all around and wait, until I've gotten control of myself and calmed down. I can't stop it, but I sure as heck will face it head on.

I Love My Job

I work at a group home for juveniles. I love working there.

I like my co-workers, and for the most part the kids there are pretty good kids. There are a few exceptions but for the most part they're good kids that have just made a few stupid mistakes. And drugs are one of the mistakes that even if you make it once you are screwed. So it's a pretty easy going environment, and I don't actually have to do all that much, and nothing physical at all. Which is a nice change from working at the car wash.

I also like it because when I'm done with work, I'm done with work. I don't usually have to worry about it when I'm not there. I do sometimes think about what happened and what I can do better, but I don't obsess over it. More importantly I don't go to or leave work in a foul mood. I think it's mellowed me out quite a bit. A don't get as upset about things, and I really am not a mean little cuss all the time. I am sometimes, but that's just me. It's just really nice not to be angry all day every day.

When I was working at the car wash, that was my life. I went over every minute of every day, and every customer that I saw, and couldn't let the smallest irritation go. I obsessed on it, and it made me mean. I hated going to work, I hated being at work, I went home and dwelled on how much I hated work. That's not saying I didn't have fun. I some of my best friends worked there with me and we did some fun/crazy things. But when I wasn't with them, or when we all had a crappy day, that's just how it was. I giant load of crap. It wasn't fun, I was always angry, and everyone around me knew it. I don't know why I stayed that there that long. Or why I fooled myself into thinking it was so great being there. Everything is 20/20 in hind site.

I don't know. But someone once told me if you hate going to your job 3 days in a row, you should look for another job. I think I might just have to stick to that from here on out. It sure does seem to be true.

A Weird Encounter in Bed

I was in bed late one night, fast asleep. When all of a sudden I get a tap on my shoulder, and someone tells me to move over. To tired to argue, or even care, I did. Next thing I know this same person decides to climb into bed. This gets me to be a little bit more attentive, and it turns out to be a man. A man I don't recognize. I proceed to go back to sleep because like I said it was late and I didn't have the energy to care.

He says, "You're really warm."

I say, "Thanks."

He asks me, "Do you know who this is?"

I look up and no I don't. At this point he decides it's probably a good idea to get up and leave. I go back to sleep. The next day I ask my roommate about it and it turns out the man was our friend Jeff trying to be funny. It did turn out to be pretty funny, but he did take his life into his own hands since I do sleep with a loaded weapon under my mattress. I don't know what he was thinking but man it was weird. I wouldn't suggest for any other men to try this again. But it would probably be a nice surprise if a woman decided to try!!!

The Devil Lives in a Shower Head

The shower head in my apartment is EVIL! It doesn't matter what you do, how oh so carefully you try and finesse that temperature, it always comes out scalding hot. I kid you not it's almost straight steam coming out of there. Then when you think maybe it's gonna cool off and you almost have a good temperature, bam it'll be even hotter then it was before, or even worse as it occasionally does all the heat will leave. I swear there were a couple of times that I got hit by ice. Not only does the temperature fluctuate to the extreme, it shoots out at like a 100 mph.

It's insane. I dread going in there just because I know I'm going to lose like two layers of skin. My thought is that there is some kinda of water demon living in there and is out to get us. How exactly do you get rid of a water demon? With an Earth demon. But then I would always be coming out of the shower dirtier then when I went in, and that isn't good. Maybe I'll just have to start rubbing myself with an sos pad everyday. Yeah that's the ticket.

Winter is Coming!!!

Is it cold where you are yet? Cause at the moment I am pretty stinking cold. Now I do love the winter but I hate being cold and not being able to do anything about it. It's one thing if you can wrap yourself up in a blanket, or go warm up by a nice roaring fire. It's completely different when you're stuck at work, and forgot to bring a jacket and the temperature drops into the 30's. I don't really like that at all. Not much I can do about it now.

Unless of course I could somehow grow a thick coat of hair. Then I would never be cold no matter what. The problem with that though would have to be when summer comes back around. Either I will die of a heat stroke, or that would be some nasty shedding. Or since I probably will be moving to Canada, I could just go a little farther north and then there wouldn't be a problem at all. It'll just be cold year round. I really hope Hilary doesn't win.

Whats the deal with sleep?

At the moment I am so insanely tired, I can barely function. It's hard to think, it's hard to talk, it's hard even to move. All because I haven't gotten my sleep.

Why is it that without sleep our bodies will just shut down? Oh you can prolong it for a short period of time. Possibly up to a week, but eventually your body will take over and you will be out. Then a couple hours later, magically you're back to tip top shape. You don't even really have to make up all that lost sleep, just the regular 8 to 10 hours will do! Why can't I just sit here and not do anything to strenuous and get the same benefits? What is it exactly about sleeping that makes you function that much better?

I think it's kinda like a reboot for your mind and body. Like you got to many things going so you need to turn off for awhile and restart all your processes. It's a little weird to think about but it kinda fits. The only part that doesn't, is that you really aren't turned off. The mind is still going. It doesn't turn off. You dream and your subconscious takes over and does it's thing. Which then goes back to the question if you aren't really off, then why can't you sit and not do to much and get the same benefit?

I just can't figure it out. Although that might just be because I am so tired and I can't think so clearly.

Holy Age of Empires

It would seem I have been out of the family game night way to long!

I finally got on to play AOE this Thursday, and was astonished at the transfiguration that has taken place in every ones style of playing. You guys really had some challenging and well thought out strategies. I didn't get to see the end of the game, but from what I could see it would have been a blood bath.

All this means is that I'm just gonna have to spend a little extra time playing and relearning all the different civilizations and strategies in this game. Things just got a whole lot more interesting.

Other Natural Flavors?

So I'm sitting here drinking a code red mountain dew. I just happen to look down and read on the label it says "with a rush of cherry flavor, with other natural flavors."

I taste the cherry, but what about these other "natural" flavors? For one thing I don't think there is anything natural with mountain dew. Let alone the flavoring that they put into it. Why can't they just say what the flavor is? Are they trying to hide what it is from all the other companies that want it? Or do they not know whats actually in it, so they just put out the blanket term "natural flavoring."

I bet what they are talking about is all the natural flavor from the metal can, or the machines, or the midgets that swim in it to stir it all up. That's probably the natural flavor. If they were putting other fruit flavors in it they would just say, orange, or lemon, or grape. It would have to be something strange that they don't want to put on the label because nobody would drink it, or even eat it for that matter. It's not just soft drinks that do it. Many processed foods have the added useless information of other natural flavors.

Give me a break if it was a natural flavor you would just say it out right. It doesn't make to much of a difference to me, I'll be shoving it into my mouth either way. But at the very least I would like a little bit of honesty.

Thinking About Moving to Canada

So Chris and I were talking the other day about what might happen this up coming presidential election. We were talking about the candidates and I was hoping Rudy would win. However the point came up that it looks pretty stinking likely that Hilary will have the best chance of making it. This is upsetting.

It's not that I have a problem with a woman being president. The problem is that I think she'll do a horrible job. I strongly dislike the liberal ideas, and I don't think she would be very stong in the world defence arena. You see her and you would think maybe it wouldn't be so hard to attack america. Especially since she is so anti military.

What I want in a President is someone who is strong. Someone who will face anyone and aything without ever backing down. I could care less what the world thinks about America. Especially France and Germany. When they can stand up for themselves then they can talk about what we should be doing. Until then they need to shut up. I want a President that will see any threat to the safty of the U.S. and to Americans, and kick their buts.

So seeing as how that probably won't happen if Hilary becomes President, Chris and I are going to move to Canada. Probably Ottowa. You know I don't particulary like Canada but at the very least I won't have to be here with Her as president. Canada most likely won't be that bad, they're usualy pretty friendly, and have clean cities. It might actually be fun.

If anyone else wants to join come along, we could caravan it all the way up, and then metaphorically give her the bird as we go over the border. HAHAHA!!! Let's get ready to go.

I'm soooo tired. And a date in review!

Yeah I'm tired. I've gotten very little sleep in the last couple of days. I got home from work at 10:30 Saturday morning. I woke up at like 3:30 to go on my group date. In between 11 and 3 I must have gotten like 5 phone calls and a dozen texts. Most were about this group date that I seemed to be in charge of. I get home at like 1 in the morning and have to be at work at 8. I so didn't want to work. I finally get home and crash on my bed. When John called me to go to dinner I was so out of it it took me like 5 minutes to get out of my apartment. I didn't know where I was or what I was doing. Anyway the real point is that caffeine is a wonderful thing. And nothing would really happen if we didn't have it.

For the date on Saturday we planned on going to a haunted corn maze, then going back to Chris VanRy's new awesome house to watch 'Children of the Corn.' I went through like 3 girls before I was lucky enough on Friday to find a girl that could actually go. It just seemed like nobody could go out. Her name's Melony, a different Melony from the Snitckers girl. She's a whole lot of fun. And out of the blue Nathan Jayme was in town with his girl to. It turned out to be an old school NY date night. Which is it was pretty stinking awesome cause when you get all of us together we tend to feed off each others energy. We didn't end up going to the corn maze cause it was rainy and so bloody cold it would not have been all that enjoyable out there. We moved on to phase two of the date. The movie. It really wasn't all that scary, but man o man it was hilarious because the girls we were with could not take it. Not one little bit. They were freaking out at the mere mention of something about to happen.

It was a good date though. A very October date with the haunted maze, apple cider, and all that. Mel is pretty stinking funny, and we had a lot of fun. I think I'm gonna ask her out again. Yeah I was tired, and yeah I might not have been totally into it but, I would give the date a 7 out of 10. I did have a lot of fun.

Strange Nights

Working graves at the group home is a very interesting experience.
It seems that at least 75% of the kids here talk in there sleep. Even then there night time activities vary widely. From just grunting and moaning, to swearing and screaming. Some carry on conversations with themselves, in several languages. While others move around or even get up and ask strange questions. My favorite by far are the kids who quote the rules in there sleep, makes me feel good that they do actually know the rules, whether they want to follow them or not.

It makes me wonder if they have these night troubles because of the drugs or the other way around. Are people with slightly off kilter brain functions more likely to gravitate to drugs? I would like to know if someone has studied this.

The next question is; does everyone have these night time troubles or is it just these kids? As far as I see it there is a bit more then the average number of night time troubles with these kids then with all the other people I have been around at night. Although I guess it is possible that I just don't realize that anyone else is doing it cause I too am asleep. It sure does make me wonder.

Let The Games Begin

It has finally happened. I put an additional 1g of ram into my computer, and I got the internet up and running at work!

The extra ram makes my AOE work quite a bit better. I can hopefully meet up on Thursdays, and play with the Payne Train. The internet at work just makes it so that I am much more appreciative of the fact that I have a laptop, and that when I get these crazy ideas into my head I can just go and write it down. Instead of the more arguis task of trying to remember the next day what I was thinking at 3am. I think we all know that at 3am its really hard to make sense of anything, let alone trying to make sense of it 12 hours later.

So bring on the fun. It's party time!!!

Going For A Walk

I was talking to a friend the other day, and she was saying how she wanted to get back into shape. I mentioned hey you could go walking with me. Yes, I said go walking. I know it's like oh my don't strain yourself to hard there. I'm a realist, I know I don't want to run. Why bother fooling around saying I will, when I won't. There is nothing wrong with going for a walk either. You are still getting the blood flowing, and getting out to get some fresh air and sun. Nothing wrong with that. I love going for my walks, very nice and soothing.

By the way for those saying that walking is nothing, what are you doing on a regular basis to stay physically active? Don't be making fun of me if you ain't doing anything but sitting on the couch.

Lunch

I really like lunch. Going to lunch is probably the best thing you can do during the day. Especially if you get up at like 11 in the morning. Get up do your thing and then you know what you're hungry. Bam! You can go get something to eat. You can go with a friend even a female friend and it's super laid back you don't have to get dressed up. You don't even have to be in all that of a good mood, and it's still okay. Then you eat and shabam you're magically in a good mood and ready to get on with the rest of the day.

I suppose you could probably get the same thing out of breakfast. But if you make plans to go to breakfast it seems that you have to get up and get prepared and look all nice. Some sort of unwritten law that if its breakfast it's something special and you have to get up and be nice and everything. Not with lunch.

I do love lunch so much, it just makes my day.

And I'm Done!

Yeah I'm back! We made the 2000 mile trip in just two days. Can't say I would recommend that for everyone but it worked for me.

My biggest problem with that is my but is killing me! Seriously, Every button and fold of cloth gets imprinted on your backside when you're sitting on it for like 12 hours a day. Not to mention the fact that your legs and neck are cramped beyond all belief. Oh and two immature young men with poor choices of food intake (i.e. junk food) make for an aroma that could kill flies at 10 yards out. It's not pleasant.

All in all the trip was a lot of fun. Got to see some old friends, got to see home again. But I'm still undecided about whats worse, flying across or driving across? I just can't tell. Oh well.

Trip of the Year!

So I'm on a trip to help Chris VanRy move to Utah.

To begin with I would have to say I hate flying. Not only is it feeling that my ears are gonna explode as we descend its the fact that it seems that the people in the airport and on the plane are mentaly unhinged. At the airport in SLC a couple of people got arrested for fighting and stealing a workers cart. Of all the places to do something stupid, the airport should be the last. There are like a bagillion armed security officers there but you run the risk of not being able to go home cause you're in jail. Which happened to these individuals. Then there's the people on the plane itself. They're there and there is nothing you can do about it. You're just a bunch of sardines, crazed annoying sardines! Last but not least my favorite part about flying is that the airport doesn't tell you anything if they decide to change something on your itinerary. I was booked to go from SLC to Atlanta. Then from Atlanta to Buffalo. Along the way I ended up in Detroit for like two hours. No idea why but what are you gonna do when you're just a sardine.

While in Buffalo I gorged myself on food. Specifically wings. I love wings, but it probably wasn't the best idea considering I needed to be on the road by 8am. Oh well.

Now I'm on the road. Not all that bad, but my but hurts, and I'm in a stinky hotel.

One day left and then I'll hopefully be in Utah again. Let's see how it goes.

A Date In Review

So this Friday, I went out with Melony Snitckers, at mom's request. It was a pretty good date. I drove all the way up to Murray. Got lost twice, but my car didn't break down. Hurray! We went to the drive-in, and saw Lady In the Water and Superman. Both were good. She's a funny girl. I think I'd like to go on another date with her, and I think she would with me. Cause I asked her. Ha. Then I got home at like 330 in the morning, and had to get up at like 7. I give it a 6 out of 10.

Adventures

You won't believe what happened to me the other night.

It was like 11pm and I was on my way to John's to help him put in an airconditioner. I came up to this innersection, where these two people were kinda going at it. One of them a guy comes over to me on his bike, so I roll down my window a crack. And I get a pretty good look at the guys... Complete white trash, dirty wifebeater, grisly looking fellow, not the look of a model citizen. He starts going off about how I need to call 911 cause this lady has started a fire. OK! So I pull my phone out and am about to start dialing, when I look around, and can't see a fire anywhere.I ask him, Where's the fire? His response, at ToysR'Us. Now I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure there ain't any toysrus anywhere close to where we are at.

Just at that moment the lady starts up about how I shouldn't listen to a thing this man says cause he's drunk, just got out of jail, and how he needs to go to the mental health hospital to get his prescriptions, and how she's scared of him, and I need to call the cops on him. Alright fair enough, so I guess I can't quite get out of it. I pull over to the side of the road, get out of the car, telling Andie to lock the doors behind me, and I call 911. I think that the police will be here in a couple of minutes, and that I can leave.

Oh no that is not the case. After a minute or so, I get the dispatcher, and tell her where I am, and what the emergency is. Then she puts me on hold! Why in the world would 911 put someone on hold? That being the case I know it's going to take a little bit longer then I expected. While this was going on, the lady had sauntered over to me and I realize something, she's probably mentally handicapped. Oh great just what I need. So she's up next to me now, and proceeds to tell me her entire life story, and why she's out here this night sitting on the side of the road...blablabla. However what was really making me nervous, was that this guy kept on leaving where I couldn't see him, and then coming back and yelling stuff. This did not put me in a good mood, I didn't know if he was going to get a gun, a knife, or just what he was doing. I was wondering if I should get my gun just to be on the safe side. I didn't cause if the police did show up and I did have a gun I would be in a bit of a pickle.

Just then the 911 operator came up again asked me the same questions, and then put me on HOLD again!!! I could not believe it, you have to be kidding me. Luckily not a lot happened until a few minutes later when the local Provo operator came on and told me that the police were on there way. Not 30 seconds after I hung up this guy came back. At this point I had enough. I said "Sir could you please go have a seat over there on the other side of the road." This really gets him pissed and he's like don't call me Sir, I don't need that, arrrrr. I go and am like "Bud go have a seat the Police will be here in a minute." As soon as that man heard police he was gone. Just up and scampered off. Thank goodness.

Not too much after that a police officer comes flying in. Hops out of his car and starts looking around for people, while he walks over to us. He starts getting the low down of what's going on, and this lady decides she needs to tell him her life story too. Then another police car swings in, and he jumps out of his car, finds out what's going on, and then the two of them start going after the guy.

I'm like hold on now, can I go or what do you want me to do? They say yeah you're fine you did a good job we won't need ya. OK, and I am out of there. Don't need them to tell me twice. And I go on my merry way to help John out.

Some people are just stupid.
